Let my faith be marked by these three things...

So you are all probably wondering what is going on with the "move"? In reality, we are wondering too. Yeah, I know! It's to take place in 2 1/2 weeks or so.

It's been an interesting road (certainly not boring) so far. The journey continues.

The little ones and I were reading the Bible this morning - reading from Hebrews 11, known as the Faith Chapter. And I found it quite interesting that, by faith, Noah built the ark, out of (holy) fear, in order to prepare for the unknown. Abraham, with total faith and obedience, determined to go without knowing - where to? - to a place he later would receive as his inheritance. And smack-dab in the middle of the chapter is this verse...

v. 6 "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who
comes to him must believe that he exists and that
he rewards those who earnestly seek him".
As Scott and I were talking last evening, and then later praying together before going to bed...
we were talking about what to do, if this or that should happen ...
and we decided to continue to seek God earnestly, to continue to do our part of searching for a job in NC, and rest in the fact that if we have to stay here in PA (because a job didn't work out) then we would probably stay here in this house for one more month until the "potential" house for us to rent would be available come late April. That in itself is a tangled web, as well...

The truth is there is a job (potentially) in the works, as of this week, and that if this does come through, it would be an obvious doing of God's hand and provision. Needless to say, in the eleventh hour is better then in no hour.

There are two verses in Isaiah 43 that have been our bedrock. Verses 18 & 19. Two verses that we keep coming back to again and again. A friend of ours once prayed for us, during our small group meeting with church, quoting this part of the verse by praying, "Lord would you ... 'make a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland' for Scott and Bevy."

And in this economy it honestly feels like "a desert and a wasteland" - especially with the job market, in the way its been going. But God can call the flood waters... and where is water to go on a parched land? No Where, and nothing, but overwhelming. In a way, Scott has been like Noah - building a boat for the unknown. Preparing to better provide for his family, by studying tirelessly, night after night for over 3 months... and then to come through with passing grades. Four exams are now passed and behind us. We give thanksgiving and praise to God for his faithfulness. And I honestly believe that God will reward Scott for his humble efforts, in some way or another. We ask for a breakthrough in the job market in NC. Although we are already gainfully employed here in PA... it just seems like God is moving us forward, even still.

I want to wrap up this post... so I can get back to packing. Even among the boxes, boxes and more boxes,I want this to be said of me: That Bevy's faith is marked by these three things.
  1. A quiet Spirit (No questions asked)
  2. A gentle Spirit (No details needed)
  3. A sweet submissiveness (No struggling against the unknowns)
Oh I wish these words could be said of me - as of today. But by God's grace, I'm growing in this -too. Whatever happens, whatever comes of this job potential in NC, or even of this housing potential if we need to stay in PA - God is good!! I want to rest in that!!

: : Would you continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers, as the month of March continues to close in, coming to an end... that God's Will be accomplished? That our faith not waver, but that it would remain SURE of what we hope for, certain of what we do not see!!
