Celebrating Freedom!

So how was your Fourth of July? Ours was a busy one, all from the confines of our home. Let me explain. This was one of those 3 day weekends with decidedly NO PLANS!, but to stay at home and finish out some of the remaining corners (containing boxes from the move, that needed to be gone through) and to just simply reorganize several of the rooms. Though we were busy, we worked hard and now the house is FINISHED...
We still celebrated!!!!

What once was thought of as the "quiet housing development" behind our place, across the fields, proved alive and full of celebration - as we had quite the fireworks show and display, actually from several of the neighbors around us.

I made a simple dinner of corn on the cob, grilled hot dogs, lettuce salad and my "not-so-sweet", Sweet Southern Iced Tea. Let's just say, there are hot dogs and then there are "Scott dogs"! But we'll save that explanation for another post.

We must have really worked our little ones hard... because as you see, Aubrey fell asleep at the dinner table and Caleb was not so sure he can take another bite...
he soon headed off to his "new" bed, assuring us that is he growing up. He moved from the crib, to a toddler bed, this weekend, and doing really well, I might add. He slept through all the noise (of the fireworks) and hasn't fallen out of bed - yet, nor has he taken advantage of his new "freedom" in the fact that he could keep getting out of his bed, if he wanted. For that we celebrate...

As we celebrated another birthday of our country, the USA, and all of its freedom's... we give thanks to God, Our Father, first and foremost, for our freedom in Christ. A freedom from sin, and the gift of salvation; His plan of grace, pardon and mercy bestowed on us each and every day. The fact that we (still) have religious freedom (in this country) is indeed a blessing, and one that we are so grateful for. Also for, the blessing of family & friends, that we have a nice home to live in, plenty of food to eat, health & strength -in order to work hard, and simply enjoying the benefits of each new day are just several more reasons to celebrate - with our lives. We are really, and truly, blessed.

Let Freedom Ring!
