What to do on a rainy day?

We've asked  Dick and Jane to come out and play.

I love these books.  Always have and always will.

Caleb was so excited that he got to "paint" their pictures.  We hung the pictures up to dry in our laundry room.  All, of course, while Aubrey was sleeping.  But, that's okay.  She was invited to go for a "car ride", later in the day.

In one of the books it shows where Dick and Jane constructed a "red car" with two table chairs, lying down end to end.  So, we had to make one, too!  I just so happen to have a lid with a handle on it that attaches or hangs itself over the seat of the chair.  Perfect for the steering wheel.  ;)

Now, this is sign of a true gentleman in the making.  Caleb seems perfectly happy and at peace, to be within the hands of a female driver.  Go. Aubrey. Go.

My Life Motto:  You get creative when you have too!

Dick, Jane, Sally, Tim, Puff, and Spot - ya'll come back and play - again.  Anytime! Would you?

: : What do you like to do on rainy days with your little ones?  What are some of your creative ideas?

I used to turn my Sit-n-Spin up on its side and pretend to drive. :)

  2. Loved the car idea! We've been known to build a tent or two on rainy days!

Loved the Lemon dessert recipe. Yum!

Your daffodils and pictures of you children were also adorable on the post before that!

I am trying to catch up on your posts! I have been off of the blogging circuit a day or two. :)

  3. Your children are adorable!
For entertainment on rainy days, I would have them cook and wash the dishes. Both kids loved to wash the dishes!
It looks like you are coming up with some pretty good ideas!

  4. Awww, there's just nothin' like the imagination of a child. Boy, do those Dick and Jane books bring back some memories! This old chick learned to read back in 1958 with Dick and Jane.

God bless and have a wonderful Wednesday!!!
