This back-yard blessing!

. .. . . .. . .. . . .. . . .. . .. ..  .. .. . .. .. .. .

FOR SALE:
Wooden Swing Set. Includes two swings, sliding board, clubhouse, sandbox and monkey bars.  $200.  Phone #: xxx-xxx-xxxx

Say WHAT?!?!?!?!?

I had been thumbing through our local little weekly newspaper- one day two weeks ago.  And saw this ad listed.

Do you know how long I've been talking about getting something like this for our little ones?  How many times I would drive by homes and see "run down" play sets in peoples back yards - wondering if their kids would ever grow up and decide they didn't need their play set anymore??  More then once, I've been tempted to stop and knock on someones door, or two, just to ask.  I never did - and just had it as one of those unspoken prayers.

#387. ads in the paper - HUGE answer to prayer

I called the phone number in faith - and left a message.  And then, I asked our landlord's permission - to see if he would mind something like this in "his" backyard... obviously it would go "against" his mowing routine...making it more of a challenge.  :)

Needless to say, Mr. A. (our landlord) was more then willing; just as excited for our kids to have something like this... and "to go for it!".

The family called back.  I was their first caller...we had first dibs, and of course we were told that there was the long list of interested buyers behind us.  We looked at it, two Sunday's ago, and gasped.  Scott and I both agreed this more then we had even imagined.  It felt like there was much more this play set then was listed on the ad... and worth way more then $200.  But, that's what they were asking for.  SOLD!!!!!

Here are the guys helping to take it down, this past Sunday.  By the time they got back home to our place to reassemble it - the skies opened up with another HUGE downpour and continuing heavy rains for the rest of the day and into the evening.

#418. brother-in-law's and buddies - who are willing to lend a hand, come rain or shine

I took my kids (my sister and her kids, too) over to my Mom's for the afternoon, this past Sunday - so we wouldn't be in the way - as this was a huge surprise (and early Christmas present) for our kids.  They had no idea this was coming to them.

They've had nothing but a grand ole time - ever since.

A back yard blessing - indeed!  For them and mommy, too.

Katie outgrew hers, so last year we gave it to a lady in our church who has three grandchildren. Sort of sad to see it go. Kids have a way of growing up on us.
I'll be praying for you tomorrow!! Hugs♥

  8. We love playing in the backyard. It gives the kids just one more reason to love being home, which is a desire we want to create without every officially announcing it to them. :) So blessed you were blessed. If we lived closer, I definately would be swinging by today! Praising the Lord for your happy children...
