Make New Friends!

.. . .... .. .... .. .... .. .. ... ... ...... .. .. ... .. .. . . . .. ..

I just had an absolutely blessed and beautiful day with this sweet and beautiful gal, today!!

She and two of her (so cute!) children - came to our house for the whole day.
Let me tell you.  It sure was nice to get to finally meet an old blogging friend for the first time - face to face.

Thank you for coming all this way - Johanna.

My kids really loved having you spend the day with us!   And I...
 I loved it, too.

No one wanted to part ways.  Memories were made.
The kids played great together.  Gifts were shared...

I'm sure this won't be the last time - together.

  1. Awesome...what a blessing it must of been...I have to ask, because I have often wondered was you nervous? I think I would be.. Just wonderful that you were able to do this.. Great memories..
    Great Friends..

    1. It was a really nice day.

Was I nervous? (I'll let Johanna speak for herself if she cares to.)

I was, just a tad -bit. But that all disappeared immediately when they arrived. I just hoped they were made to feel right at home.

She really is a sweet person.

I often think - how much we miss (in life) if only dare to keep to ourselves. And trust me, I STILL need to work on this. Some times the ones we are "closest too" are the hardest to let into our lives. But, in this situation, to take a step of faith and meet someone (like, as I did when I met my husband, via eHarm*ny.) for the first time - face to face - can really make a change for the better in your life.

I'm glad we made these memories...

  2. That's great! I think about meeting some of my blog friends but I never have. We don't live that far apart. Maybe someday we'll meet up.

  3. Beverly, what a sweet post! I am so grateful we had this beautiful day together!

You didn't seem nervous at all! I was, just a little, but you made us feel right at home! My children felt immediately at home! Especially my daughter, who felt comfortable enough to peek into your fridge to get something to drink! :) We truly didn't want to leave, we were having such a great time!

It felt like we already knew each other for a long time! But we only just met yesterday!

You have such a sweet, caring, calm, gentle countenance and soul. And your children are so sweet and friendly and dear. Just like you!

You are so right about how much we can experience if we just step out of our comfort zone for a bit, what wonderful friends we can make. For a shy person like me (yes, I really AM shy-though I didn't seem that way yesterday-just goes to show how comfortable I felt with you!) I need to do this more.

And baby Jayne, oh my! What a doll!

We can't wait to see you all again!

Thank you again for hosting us and for providing us such a lovely, memorable day! We will never forget it!

    Love and Blessings,

  4. Oh, and your Stromboli, and your meadow tea, and your rhubarb bread, and your no-knead bread, and your fruit salad, and your coffee- the food was delicious! Your family is lucky to have a great cook and baker like you! :)

And your home is just beautiful, I keep gushing over it to my husband about all the details, like the deep windows and beautiful doors. So beautiful!

    1. Okay.. now you're making me blush. stop.

I'm so glad you came - Johanna (and kids) and that you thoroughly enjoyed yourselves and felt right at home. That's the way it should be.

  5. Oh how FUN!! I bet you were both so blessed to meet in person!

  6. How cool is all of that!? So excited for you both...and starving now after reading all of that about the food.
    Thanks for sharing!

  7. Face to face? What a blessing!

    :) Debbie
