The Sunflower Boy (a story!)

.. .. .... .... ... ..... ... ... .. ... ... ... ...... . .. .. .. .
Once upon a time, there was a little boy who fell gladly in love with growing sunflowers.  He could hardly wait for the season to come back around when it would be time to plant and water and wait.  He declared he would take time, sit and watch those seeds grow.

When it didn't happen very fast, he worried.  Every day he wondered.  Every day he would ask.  When?

And then, one day.  He saw something.  Little and green, growing.  This little boy now had something special to see. Something beautiful to show.  Something he couldn't wait to give away.

To share.

Every day, they grew taller.  Every day his own smile grew bigger.

The reality was, was that they would never grow quite as tall as he.  So, he decided, he would settle to stand with them; only as proud and tall as they.  By their side..

One day, he showed us all how much it was that he had grown, instead. He didn't stay in their shadow. He quietly surpassed. He had given out of his own prize and possession, one to his own dear Momma.  But, even more, he gave one special to another, a sweet and elderly friend, bringing to her face a smile as huge as they come.  He did well. All on his own accord, all because he loved.

Now - that, my friend, is one sure way to spread the SON SHINE around.  Amen?

The end.

My darling Sunflower Boy!

My prayer is that one day you too will realize just how much in the planting, the watering, the waiting - we will see even more growth in you!   Today. You're still fragile.  You need time, attention and lots and lots of patience given your way.  We stand by you.  And, wait...
With this, in time, may you grow taller, more radiant, more steadfast and rooted.  Casting your all towards the SON!

Caleb. May your face CONTINUALLY beam with the love of Jesus.  And as you continue to share your life and love with others, we pray that these others will also come to know the meaning of looking to the Son!
While growing in HIM!

Friend.  At the end of the day when our hearts are weary.  Our heads bowed low.  Our shoulders sagging and faces like so..
(because that day will come, and has) -- Be encouraged!

Galatians 6:9 says,
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
