{five minute friday} STILL

.. ... ... .. .. .... .. ... ... ..... ... .... ... .... .. .. . . .
::go ::
The word and idea of community keeps swirling around in my mind.
I am not sure if it is because I have been feeling so out-of-the-loop here of late or not, being recently sick and all.
However, this idea of being in community or relationship is so necessary.  So vital.
And, when you're feeling out touch with reality -well, that can feel like such a loss.
But.  One thing I know.
I am anchored.
I'm anchored still.
The greatest relationship and one worth keeping is with the One who matters most!

It truly is the only place one can feel safe and secure in.
The light may not be burning as brightly...
But still...I'm in the right place.

Safe.
Secure.
Surrounded.
I will not be moved.
Yet, I long for it to deepen, still.

  1. Community, particularly in blogging, has been on my mind, too. I'm unfortunately not anchored, but drifting... hoping I'll eventually find somewhere that I belong.

I love your rustic, romantic blog template - it's so refreshing against all of the constant whiteness I see everywhere these days.

    Happy Friday to you,
    Melissa

  2. I am sorry you've been feeling kind of out of the loop...and that you've been ill, Bevy. I do hope that you are soon back to feeling like yourself again. I enjoyed your take on the word "still". And the fact that we feel safe and secure in Him is what truly matters!

  3. Hi Bevy...so sorry to hear that you and your family have not been feeling well. I pray that you will all be feeling better soon. I know there is a lot of sickness going around. Our little granddaughter wasn't feeling well and our son, Travis has had his ups and downs lately. I know what you mean about feeling out of the loop. Lately, I haven't even been out of the house except for Travis' doctor appt's which are a lot right now. He sees a lot of specialists and we try to get everything done before winter. I didn't make it to bible study because he wasn't feeling well and I sure did miss it. Please keep my daughter in law, Jenny, in prayer. She's due to deliver our little grandson anyday now!!!!! It's been quite hectic lately but exciting times as well. Feeling blessed!!!!!!!! Hope you feel better and have a good weekend. (I'll keep you posted with baby news!!) Melanie P.

    1. Wow! Melanie - you really do have a lot going on. I'll certainly be thinking of your DIL - Jenny - having a new little one here, soon. How exciting. (yes! Keep me posted!)

I think of you often... and truly do appreciate you coming by like you do!! You're such a blessing. I wish you and yours a healthy couple of weeks ahead... and we're working on getting better here, too! The Chiropractor and Essential Oils.. and sleep (shh! I should be in bed by now) is what it's going to take towards really getting better. I know.

  4. Out of the Loop... been there done that... hopefully it will pass soon...
Hope you and yours are on the mend...
"STILL" love that word... sometimes when things are out of sync, or just bearing down on us, Its best just to be "STILL" I think the main reason I love that word is simply this...
"Be Still and Know that I am GOD"... he is always there whether we are in the Loop or Out of the Loop... he is our constant... and Bevy, I struggle daily when life is just overwhelming, being pulled from all directions, and for me I start to rethink all things... and that can cause just more issues... and thats when I have that moment of Wake Up... God can fix it, can handle it all... because he already knows ahead of time what is needed...
Can't wait until Monday... will be reading along... and I Opt Out of this Giveaway... thank you for your friendship... and my Bag is beautiful... HUGS...

  5. I've been out of the loop for a long time now.... about a year. I SO get what you are talking about, but God has been rearranging my life lately. I miss blogging, my few friends here and I really miss writing. However, I know that the stillness only comes when my eyes are on God and I am following Him and not my own whims.
Your post was SO good, my friend!!!! Keep going deeper with Him!
