Little reminder for the day!!

. .. .... . .. . ... .. .. .. ... . .. . .. .. . .... . . .. . . . ..

"Live in the present rather than the future. Leave the future joys for future accomplishments. Enjoy what you have today."
~ Dr. Gary Chapman

A little something to ponder over - today...

That last line gets me.  Enjoy what you have today!  Contentment is a good thing!  I know for me, personally, I can be settled and (somewhat satisfied), read with tongue-in-cheek, and yet down deep, over time, it rises.  That moment of discontent.  It startles me when it happens.
This is why this quote has really spoke to me - this morning!!

Enjoy today while it is today!  Verses in Matthew 6 come to mind.

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I'm thankful for this reminder in Scripture, this morning!!

And, I ask you the same question.
Past, Present or Future?
Where do you see yourself hanging out?
Hopefully -in the present!  While it is still today.

  1. Great Post Bevy... Present for me, but I do catch myself wishing I could go back and have a do over... Oh how, I would have made different decisions... just ones that would have allowed me to see how important it is to put GOD front and center...

    1. That is a good perspective and I bet you're not the only one who wishes for constant do-overs. That is where God's grace comes in. And... I also say.... if it wasn't for those "regrets" - from and in and of the past - then perhaps our future would be no different.

      Another thing to think about.

I love you!! Thank you for your faithful and constant support - here at Treasured Up and Pondered.
